HSE SNOW FEST – The Extreme Sports Club’s annual winter event unites the entire university on the ski slopes. Enjoy some free skiing and snowboarding, or learn the basics of either. You can even take part in our alpine skiing and snowboarding slalom competition. It’s all happening on March 3 at the KANT sports complex. We’ll also be running some fun competitions and playing some good tunes to get everyone in the mood!

What Do I Need to Do to Get In?
Entry is free, you just need to register here.
A special Skipass gets our registered guests onto the slopes for free between 13.00 and 18.00. You can pick up your ski pass at the tent at the bottom of the slope after you sign a statement of liability, any time between 12:00 and 17:00. We recommend arriving early in order to avoid the queues. You’ll also be able to keep hydrated and stay warm by drinking our hot tea throughout the day.
12:00 - 13:00 – Registration (you can also arrive later if you have classes, as the slope will be ours from 13:00 to 18.00)
12:40 - 12:55 – Warm-up session to some motivating music.
13:00 – Official opening.
13.30 - 16:00 – Mini slalom competitions.
17:00 - 17:15 – Winners announced and prizes awarded.
18:00 – Official closing.
Of course, there’ll also be free skiing and snowboarding, competitions and quests run by student organizations and the ESC, food, music and a great vibe!
What To Expect
You’ll need to either use your own equipment, or rent it.
If you need to rent, we’ll tell you where you can do it conveniently and for a good price:
1. Contact SC Kant directly, on the day of the event. Rental prices can be found via the link.
3. Don’t forget – you can always ask friends to lend you anything you might need!
The competition is coordinated by the Extreme Sports Club with the support of the team at SC Kant. Each competitor will have 2 attempts. Based on the results, the competition winners will be announced. There will be some great prizes provided by HSE and our partners.
12.00 - 13.00 – registration and issue of start numbers at the registration tent on the slope
13.30 - First race, alpine skiing (women), alpine skiing (men)
14.15 - First race, snowboarding (women), snowboarding (men)
15.00 - Second race (second attempt), alpine skiing (women), alpine skiing (men)
15.45 - Second race (second attempt), snowboard (women), snowboard (men)
17.00 - Winners announced and prizes awarded
Learn to Ski or Snowboard!
All festival-comers will have the opportunity to learn the basics of skiing or snowboarding with our EMU Club instructors. If you wish to do so, make sure you let us know when you register. Please note that you will need to come to your training session with everything you need (i.e. your snowboard or skis), as it won’t be available on the slope!
Not only will you be able to ski and snowboard to your heart’s content – you’ll also be able to enjoy our Club competitions, plenty of hot tea, good music and great vibes!
